KipTewksbury: An enjoyable exchange
I helped a member put in yard markers at his mother’s house. A narrow driveway separates her lawn lined with rocks and an apartment building. The member obtained 2 rods of 6 ‘ rebar; with help I dug 2 holes about 2′ deep, set in 2 6″ diameter x 23″ sona tubes (for pouring concrete footings). Then we mixed one bag of quickcrete cement, filled the 2 sona tubes and inserted and plumbed the 2 rebar. Now the snow plow can see that edge of her property with up to 4’ of snow around. We had lots of help from 4 children of various ages who lived in the apartments next door. They asked many questions, held tools and attempted to use the pick, shovel and post hole digger. I had a very enjoyable 2 hours on this job.
